Can't reload SMG

After Jan.15 update, I started playing again from a previous save. Reloading SMG worked fine up until the train bridge level. I equipped it, but whenever I tried to "pull back" the slider, left hand always defaulted to the secondary grip. This happens regardless of whether I use grip or trigger button. This happened to me when I was cycling through my weapons fighting under the train bridge. I'm using the Valve Index, i9-10900k, RTX 3080ti.
